My morning at the Golf & Country Club

Well, this morning was beautiful. low laying fog everywhere and perfect for some photos. i love taking photos when it’s foggy outside. it really adds a lot to an image. an atmosphere that adds wonder to an image. adds emotion.
so… i decided i wanted to go out and see what i could find to capture through my lens. after decidng the beach was out because i didnt want to waste the gas, i decided to head down the street to Meadow Oaks Golf & Country Club in Hudson, Florida (a 5 minute drive for me). it’s open to the public so i figured it wouldn’t be a problem for me to walk around a green or two and shoot a few photos. upon asking for permission to go and shoot, the pro shop manager offered me a golf cart. this was awesome! i really did not expect that at all and they were really hospitable and that made for a great morning. i managed to walk away with a couple decent shots. it was damn tricky though. morning light blocked by the foggy atmosphere pushed my shutter speeds down quite a bit. i started out with the 50mm f/1.8 which was great but doesn’t offer a lot of flexibility. after a while i ended up switching to my crappy 70-300mm lens and pushed my shutter speeds way down. like i said though, i still landed a few nice shots so all wasn’t lost in the endeavor. as a thank you i will be printing one and giving it to them.
