Hey there,

It is possible to set a character limit by either using the {{ testimonial_excerpt }} tag which is replaced with the value of get_the_excerpt(). You can set the limit of that as described in the excerpt_length codex page.

Another option is to create your own template tag that limits the content while also giving you the ability to format it how ever you like at the same time.
